Creative Juices

Trying to find the creative mojo needed to create a new painting can sometimes be troublesome. Especially when you have three young kids, that need your constant devotion. But sometimes, I don't need to be inspired to create. Some times it just takes the imagination of three kids.
My kids help me out a lot with what I am working on. I doodle everyday, and with their help from time to time, I can create something that I never would have thought of. My latest series of paintings are abstract fish eyes. It came about one day when I was just dabbling with my a pen and some paper. My son, Caden, came over and was just staring at the little pictures. Playing the 50 million question game. Finally, out of the innocent, imagination, only a 5 year old can have, he said that they looked like, "beautiful, fish eyes." Then he went back to playing with his sister. I sat there, thinking, trying to see what my son had seen. But it did not come to me. A day later, at work. It came.
Finally, I was inspired. Excited about the paintings that were there, in the back of my mind, and in the imagination of a creative 5 year old. That was five paintings ago. I have truly found a spark that I so desperately needed. And it came from left field. A place in my life that I never thought would drive me to create, beautiful, inspired works of art.
